Interesting facts about Schecter:
Schecter's history began in 1976 when David Schecter founded the company as a guitar repair shop in California. The workshop produced numerous spare parts and thus supplied well-known manufacturers.
After the company had a lot of experience with a repertoire of about 400 different guitar parts, fully manufactured electric guitars also left the house of Schecter for the first time in 1979. At that time, Schecter guitars were an expensive, high-quality commodity in the USA, offered by only a few dealers. By 1983, the manufacturer had reached its production limits and could no longer meet the increasing demand. New investors moved the company headquarters to Dallas, Texas, where guitars of the highest quality continued to be built under the "Schecter" name. After a year-long closure, Schecter was sold in 1987 to a Japanese entrepreneur who brought the company back to California. The focus there was on the production of high-priced costum instruments. In 1995 Schecter presented for the first time its new basses and guitars of the so-called S series. After a change at the management level, several experienced musicians joined the company, such as Robert DeLeo from Stone Temple Pilots and Jay Noel Yuenger and Sean Yseult from White Zombie. However, Schecter at that time still specialized only in exclusive, individualized guitars. In 1997, with the purchase of a new factory, director Michael Ciravolo realized his dream of being able to mass-produce the high-quality guitars without sacrificing quality. This was followed by the Diamond series, which is still in production today. In the meantime, Schecter Guitar Research is one of the leading guitar manufacturers worldwide and supplies more than 150 countries with high-quality, constantly evolving guitars and basses.
