Weltmeister Accordion: The Story of a Successful Company
It was not an easy task to build a successful company. Weltmeister Manufaktur had to work hard to establish itself in the industry. But thanks to their innovative ideas and the tireless efforts of their employees, they have managed to establish themselves as a leading manufacturer of accordions.
The origins of the Weltmeister accordion manufacturing company date back to the 17th century. At that time, violin makers first came to the small town of Klingenthal. Gradually, more and more different instruments were manufactured in Klingenthal at a variety of different production sites.
The production of the harmonica began in the 19th century. Already around 1840, Klingenthal produced the most harmonicas in Germany. In 1852, the manufacture of accordions also began. In the course of time, brands such as Barcarole, Contasina, Firotti, Horch and Royal Standard were formed.
In the 1930s, engineers developed some innovative ideas that made the instrument even better. For example, a special valve was developed that allowed the player to play the notes of the instrument softer or louderor the biaxial plastic keyboard. In addition, the first electronic accordions were developed, which were produced from the mid-1930s.
After World War II, the world champion company continued to innovate and develop new models of the instrument. Today, the company is one of the leading manufacturers of accordions in the world and still has its headquarters in Klingenthal under the name "Weltmeister Akkordeon Manufaktur GmbH".

The World Champion Cassotto Accordion combines all the advantages of the Cassotto accordions with the lightweight of the standard instruments. At just 10.4 kg, it is almost as light as the comparable Topas IV, but has the cassotto, which gives a different timbre to the basic and low chorus. This weight reduction is possible due to the special filling cassotto, a resonance shaft, which here, however, is not built into the accordion, but is placed on top of the filling. In this way, the accordion can also be tuned more easily and thus more cost-effectively due to its special service-friendliness. This world champion accordion finds its place in the orchestra as well as soloistically on stage and has something to offer for all genres of music. The Cassotto model is available with 37 keys and 96 basses as well as with 41 keys and 120 basses.
